Event

Andres Pacetty born in Livorna, Italy
Son of Tomas Pacetty and Clara Maria de Chnagaroti

Gertrude Rosa Pons born in Mahon, Minorca

British assume rule of East Florida.

Andres Pacetty is recruited for Dr Andrew Turnbull's colony to colonize East Florida. After several months gathering in Mahon, Minorca, Leonardy marries a local girl, Gertrude Pons.

The expedition arrives in Les Mosquitos in June, 1768.

Two children Clara and Tomas are born to the Pacettys in New Smryna, Florida, between 1772-76. They each make the walk to Saint Augustine when the colony is abandoned, and survive into adulthood.

After nine years of abuse and neglect, the Turnbull colony disbands. 700 of the original 1400 immigrants survie, and walk 70 miles north on the Kings Road Nine to Saint Augustine where they are accepted by the British governor.

Maria Magdalene is the first of three additional children born to Andres Pacetty and Gertrude Pons in Saint Augustine between 1778-84.

Spanish return to rule East Florida.

According to the census, Andres Pacetty is a wigmaker with two and three-quarters acres of land.  He lives with his wife and four children in a  house on Saint George Street.  He owns two slaves.

Gertrude Pons dies shortly after giving birth to Maria Josefa, who doesn't survive either. Gertrude is given burial in the cemetery of the Holy Parish Church.

Only four months after losing Gertrude, Andres Pacetty marries Maria del Rosario Castell. She is a widow with a young daughter Agueda Segui. Andres gives up wig-making and becomes a farmer. He buys House No 64, Block 9 on Saint George Street near Cuna, and also owns a plantation on North River and Guano Creek.

Andres Pacetty Jr is born. Andres and Maria have seven children together between 1786 and 1801.

Tomas Pacetty marries Maria Catalina Bonelly. Tomas is part of the rescue effort that brings Bonelly's sister, Antonia Paula Bonelly, back to Saint Augustine after her kidnapping by Mickosukee Indians in 1802. Tomas and his family leave Saint Johns County is 1808 and Tomas drowns in 1813.

Andres Pacetty dies 01-Mar in Saint Augustine.

Notes

The 1818 burial record states that Andres Pacetty was 66 when he died, setting his birth in 1752.  This would have made him a less attractive recruit for hard labor (only 15 years old when Turnbull visited Italy in 1767).
